In the first match in November Ben Foote was first home in the u11 race in 7th place followed by Todd McMullan, who was destined to be the only athlete placed in the A team in every race, finished 9th. Sophie Hosking running for the first time in the league was eleventh while Harry Batchelor in seventeenth place and we finished with a total score of 44 points and were placed third behind Hinchley Wood School and Sutton and District AC.

In December Ben improved his position to finish in second place and Toby Sparrow who only competed once came in seventh. Rachel Slater running for the first time was 8th while Todd again finished in 9th. A great team result to finish with 26 points and we now headed the table.

In February Todd finished 3rd and Sophie was the first overall girl in 4th Ben was relegated to 10th while Megan McCormack made it into the A team for the first time to finish 18th but with 35 team points we were now in second place.

March and the final match and we trailed Sutton and District, the holders, by 13 points. With our largest number of competitors Todd again finished in third place Ollie Manlow running in the league for the first time was 5th and Rachel again headed Sophie to finish 7th and Nathan Smith who was competing for the first time was 8th to complete the team. With 23 points we won the race and the B team were second which resulted in Epsom & Ewell being crowned champions for 2009/10.

In the individual results, Sophie was runner-up in the girls and Todd was third in the boys group although he will be able to compete in this age group next winter.

In the u13 age group Lucy Drummond was always the number girl and so added the u13 title to her u11 title she won in 2008, can she take all three age group titles, watch this space.
